Through the Bio-Trac program (sponsored by the Foundation for the Education in the Sciences, Inc. at the NIH); the MFSP program will continue to provide one-week lecture and “hands-on” laboratory training workshops in different areas of biotechnology that are topical and are in demand in the sciences. Recent programs have focused on the areas of Recombinant DNA Methodology; Stem Cells: Techniques and Methods; DNA Microarrays: Development, Fabrication and Methods; and Mammalian Cell Culture. Bio-Trac offers over 37 different lecture and ‘hands-on” training workshops that are held on the NIH campus. Using a state of the art training laboratory, Bio-Trac has provided instruction to over 9,500 scientists in the last 20 years. All of Bio-Trac programs are team taught by active researchers from area institutions (NIH, Catholic University of America, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Georgetown Medical School, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Hood College, Walter Reed Army Institute, University of Maryland at Baltimore County).
